The project consists in the construction of a new facility to house services in support of tennis courts, located in the Thornhill Public Park. This facility replaces an older one of smaller proportion and in considerable state of disrepair. Its interior consists of a main hall, meeting rooms, change rooms, washrooms, storage and administration areas.
To accommodate these facilities, we have designed a one storey, 2,400 square foot building, with sloped, multi-gabled roof, treated with asphalt shingles, and exterior facades clad in brick in keeping with the historical character of the area. This facility is leased by the city of Vaughan to a local non profit group. Both interior space and exteriors have been designed with durable, maintenance free and vandal resistant materials. All windows have been protected with “Lexan” glazing sheets while building accesses have been protected by fences and garden lockable gates.
